Combilift is among the fastest-growing forklift manufacturers and shows no signs of stopping. As the company celebrates a milestone, roofing distributors may want to pay attention when seeking ways to store and move roofing goods.

The Irish manufacturer of four-directional, side-loading, articulated forklifts recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. RSP Editorial Director Rick Damato chats with Paul Short, president of Combilift North America, about the company’s history and its work with Convoy of Hope, including donating its 75,000th truck to the worthy cause.

Convoy of Hope works alongside volunteer organizations to alleviate poverty and hunger. Its global distribution center is based in Springfield, Mo., and aid is dispersed globally throughout the United States from the Springfield warehouse. Combilift delivered its first truck to the nonprofit there in 2019.

In addition to the donated truck, Combilift has loaned its expertise to the nonprofit to make it more efficient in its mission to help others.

“We’ve been working with them on maximizing storage for their warehouse,” said Short. “They needed to store more at the warehouse, and acquiring a new building wasn’t an option for them.”
