US LBM, distributor of specialty building materials, announced last week it had acquired the Dallas-Fort Worth operations of ZyTech Building Systems, a building product manufacturer and distributor in North America.

In a Dec. 1 news release, US LBM said the facility it acquired is located in Fort Worth, Texas, and primarily designs and manufactures structural building components, including floor and roof trusses and associated engineered wood products, for professional builders in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Todd Monroe, who has led the plant since it opened in 2015, will continue to lead its day-to-day operations.

"This acquisition expands our network and manufacturing capabilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, which remains underbuilt with continued high demand for housing, and we're pleased to welcome Todd and the entire team to US LBM," said US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson.

The company said after this acquisition, US LBM now operates 10 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, including a structural component manufacturing location in Van Alstyne, Texas, that operates under the name J.P Hart.

US LBM is a large, privately owned, full-line distributor of specialty building materials, offering a portfolio of specialty products, including windows, doors, millwork, wallboard, roofing, siding, engineered components and cabinetry.

The company notes that it “…combines a national platform's scale and operational advantages with a local go-to-market strategy through its national network of locations across the country.”
