If you have topics relevant to you and your company from the past year that can be shared with a broader audience, National Women in Roofing [NWiR] wants to hear from you.
The organization is putting out a call for presenters to speak on topics relevant to the needs of women and their allies during the organization’s annual NWiR Day. Now in its seventh year, NWiR Day is a one-day conference for women professionals in the roofing industry to learn about the latest business strategies, to network, and enjoy a day of insight, inspiration and fun.
Held Feb. 4 in Las Vegas — the day before the 2024 International Roofing Expo begins — the event features presenters and breakout sessions on everything from business development to Spanish speaking tracks and hands-on product demonstrations. This year’s theme is “Hitting It Out of the Park: How Women Rise With Allies and Advocates.” Any experts or professionals who can speak about this are encouraged to submit their ideas for sessions by Aug. 31.
“To create an energetic and intuitive agenda that is responsive to the needs of women in the roofing industry, we are looking for your suggestions and contributions on best practices and important issues to empower women and their allies in the roofing industry,” the NWiR said in an email. "NWiR Day is not just another professional development conference; it is a time for women and their allies to engage in education, networking, and mentoring for the purpose of growing their careers and strengthening their businesses."
The format of the sessions can include a panel discussion, a workshop experience, presentations, or simply facilitating conversations. When shaping their submissions, NWiR suggests presenters draw on the knowledge they wish they had known at the beginning or mid-point of their careers that they can share with others.
